Legacy of Sedona

Born December 18, 2003

Time flies when raising such an absolutely wonderful bunch of puppies. They've all gone home now and the nest is empty....

Kiva at 8 months

Silverbell, aka Kiva
Kiva is now home with Bill and Vicki in Northern California where I suspect she will rival Spirit (Bruce/Sumatra baby) for the "most spoiled Firehouse puppy" title!

9.8.04:  I know that all those puppies are special - it was a magnificent litter but truly Kiva is the most outstanding puppy I have ever known! We absolutely can not take her anywhere without people stopping and making a fuss over her. She is sweet and friendly to people and dogs alike. She cuddles and plays and learns at an amazing rate. She does not bark, chew on things other than toys, or do anything destructive. She puts her toys away on command and gets on her bed when told. I could not if I tried imagine a better puppy or dog.

War Eagle
aka Rocky

Rocky is now home in NYC where he will be Frank and Roseanne's youngest "child", Chloe's barn dog and Phoebe's service dog!  Good luck to Phoebe and Rocky in SD school!!

Frank reports that at 8 months old Rocky has completed Obedience and is doing wonderful!  I received a phone call recently from a person who had met Rocky at the barn and just wanted to call to say what an awesome boy Rocky is!

Way to go Fico Family for raising him so well!

Contention
Tyler is just a doll. She loves to play with "things" and her favorite thing is old dried up magnolia leaves! She is adventurous and just plain fun.

Tyler is now home with Charlie and Mona. I think perhaps the mini Aussie world has not yet seen the last of Miss Tyler....!

Superstition
Stitch is such a hoot. She runs and plays but is always the first to come back and want to be cuddled. She is so aware of what's going on and comes to tell me when something isn't right.
Pretty amazing!

Stitch is now home with Jim and Lucy where she has big plans in Obedience and on the golf course (look out Tiger!).

2/05:  You would be so happy to see Stitch again. She is gorgeous, healthy and tough as nails! Everyone here has fallen in love with her, from neighbors to the golf course staff. So far, she is the only dog allowed on the golf course because she is so adorable and well-trained. She will sit in a golf cart patiently until Jim lets her go and then she goes crazy, running everywhere. Jim is still working on designing a golf pullcart she can pull behind her. I still have my doubts, but she is game for anything. I play a lot of tennis so I have devised a game where I serve a tennis ball off our back deck down the slope and she is overjoyed to retrieve it. Unfortunately, I wear out much sooner than she does. We have taught her simple tricks, my favorite being getting a kiss from her. We love her so much. Thanks for letting us have her.

Missy at 8 months

Midnight Owl
Missy is probably the most laid back of the group. That's not to say she's not a bundle of energy, but she is also a watcher who knows what's going on. She loves to run and chases the big dogs all over the yard -- the amazing thing is how well she keeps up with them!

Missy is now home with Barbara and Jenny (and Jesse the big Aussie) where I suspect she will be loved almost to pieces! Missy's big plans, other than being loved silly, are to be a service dog to Barbara and an agility star with Jenny! Jobs that she is virtually custom made for!

July 3, 2004:  Missy is such a love.  She got her diploma for puppy obedience and started her first regular obedience this morning.  She was the star of the class!  Jenny is supposed to be taking pictures of her playing with the hose and sprinklers to send to you. We even have trouble keeping her out of the shower. We hope to take her to the beach soon - I imagine she will love it.

She definitely likes people better than dogs. When we take her to the pet store, she searches out all the little kids. She ignores most of the dogs in class, but greets all the owners.

August, 2004:  Missy took first place in her obedience class.  She got a 188 out of 200 points.  She  was marked down because she doesn't sit straight yet (she was also the youngest in her class).  Her trainer thinks she is the most beautiful mini she has ever seen.  She wanted one of Missy's puppies (she was really disappointed when she found out Missy had already been fixed).
Missy  went  swimming in the ocean yesterday.  She even got Jesse to go in the water (first time in 6 times to the beach that Jesse has ever gotten wet voluntarily)

She seems fearless, except around other dogs.  In puppy class, she really liked a lab, but he didn't come back for the next obedience.  This class, she went to all the other owners and seemed to say
, "Pet me.  I'm more cute than your dog." At the dog parks and beach, she hides behind me or Jesse when all the other dogs come up. Then she just runs from Jesse to me to Jenny to Jesse (like she is herding us together)

Lost Dutchman
Dutch could not be more outgoing if he tried. He is as fearless as he is persistent. He approaches everything with such total confidence that he can do it!  How to describe him in a word -- ATTITUDE!

Dutch is home now with the Taylor clan here in Southern California. Dutch may do a little conformation showing as well as being everybody's everything!

Eagle and Bella were a big "help" to Stephanie while she cleaned the yard!

Wait a minute -- you mean there's a gate?
(Tyler prefers the usual way)

Dutch and Bella squaring off -- again! These two are constantly trying to figure out who is tougher!

They are getting harder and harder to outrun!

Me! Me! Play with ME!

Yep -- Dutch and Bella again!

WIPEOUT!  Not that it slowed Bella down for a instant.

Tenni and Bella with rapt attention!
