The Health Survey is now closed.
The survey ran for 2 full years, however in the last year participation noticeably dropped off and finally slowed to a trickle of 3 to 4 submissions in the last six month period. I plan to re-institute the Health Survey in another year in order to monitor the progression of disease incidence.

Why Do A Health Survey?

In order to continually better our breed it is imperative that breeders know and understand the genetic problems common to the breed. Too often open discussion of health problems that become apparent aren't talked about because of the negative impact it may have on a breeding program and the rumors that may then get started, often following the pattern of the old game "Telephone" or "Gossip" that many of us played as children.

This survey was designed to gather health information on all North American/Miniature Australian Shepherd without regard to registry, designated quality of dog (show/breed/pet, etc.) or accomplishments achieved. Survey information is confidential.  Dogs names or lines were not solicited.

Thank you to all who participated in this project.  Only through cooperative effort can we all achieve our goal of improving and bettering the North American/Miniature Australian Shepherd!

                                                                                                 Sincerely,

                                                                                                 Janet Boursier
